The whole world of humankind think and believe that the true (not the plagiarizing identity thieving murderous blasphemous religion, the Christmas religion in all its off shoots, branch-offs, break-offs, variants and alternates such scientology, etcetera) Christianity is a religion. But is it?
Except that your definition of religion is that it is anything at all that is about GOD (i.e. an all powerful, all knowing, all everywhere Deity who created us and everything else) or about a belief in GOD (and some ancient religious texts), Christianity in anyall other sense or context, is not a religion at all absolutely.
This is because first of all, Christianity requires humankind to agree to enter into a legally binding agreement (with penalties for not abiding, honoring and performing everyall the terms of this agreement clearly spelt out) which the Christian Holy Scripture called or termed 'a Covenant' with the ALMIGHTY GOD.
Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read in the hearing of the people. And they said, “All that the Lord has said we will do, and be obedient.”
Exodus 24:7
Now therefore, if you will indeed obey My voice and keep My covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to Me above all people; for all the earth is Mine. And you shall be to Me a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.”
So Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before them all these words which the Lord commanded him. Then all the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.”

In literally all religions (especially the ancient ones), it is about believing in something which whether you follow what you believe in or not, it is entirely up to you.
But in true Christianity you are required to honor and keep what you agree to. Also you are not required to agree (to enter into this Covenant to become a Christian) if you chose not to. The free will choice to enter into the Covenant is entirely your decision, no one is or will ever be forced against their will to become a Christian.
The evil blasphemous Christmas religion on the other hand during the days when it wielded political (and religious) clout over the nations which she hold political sway, were torturing and killing anyone who won't join her ranks to become a disciple of that evil religion.
He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.
Revelation 13:15
While today having lost this power she is no longer able to do so but in the soon coming days not too long from now she will again gain this power to torture and murder anyone who will not fall down and worship the Beast.

Matthew 19:20 – 23
That (Matthew 19:22) was what happened with me when I was in my tweens or teens (between 11 to 14 years of age, I can't remember exactly as it was a long time ago and my memory has faded). I read the KJV Bible and was convinced of the truth in its writings but I told myself that it is a hard act to follow and decided against becoming a Christian. I told myself I will only become a Christian when I am sixty years old (i.e. some time before I will die of old age).
Then around twenty years later GOD brought what I said to my remembrance and (thankfully) being older and wiser, I without hesitation decided to enter into the Covenant with the ALMIGHTY GOD and LORD JESUS CHRIST to become a Christian and had remained so to this very day (through hell and high waters).
Of course, beginning from when Christianity began to spread in the Middle East, a few men of pagan (i.e. men invented) religions, seeing the 'power' of true Christianity where the believers are willing to die in horrific torture for their convictions, the proclaimed and acclaimed Superlatives of some of these religions began to incorporate from some to many of the doctrines (including the name of Christianity or of the GOD of Abraham) of true Christianity to give them the derived power to command absolute unquestioning obedience (including to die doing the evil bidding of these proclaimed and acclaimed Superlatives) of those stupid enough to believe them that they are the (supreme) proclaimed and acclaimed Superlatives of the Christian GOD or the GOD of Abraham.
That is why today we have the so called Abrahamic religions where ancient men plagiarized the name and religion (i.e. faith and worship) of Abraham the Father of the Faithful of the Christian Holy Scriptures, so that they could rule (as the defacto God on earth) with absolute unquestioning 'power' over all they could frighten into believing that they are The supreme proclaimed and acclaimed Superlatives of the Christian GOD or the GOD of Abraham.
This is why the two largest (with a combined total subscribing discipleship of more than three and a half billions) so called Abrahamic religions have very explicit doctrines to scare the living daylights out of humankind. Doctrines of forever sadistic torture in a so called hell, for all those who do not subscribe their religions and worship them (the proclaimed and acclaimed Superlatives of their religions), while at the same time promising (though the correct term is actually 'tempting' with) a forever bliss (including all the mindless sex orgies which they lusted after with copious dozens of virtual virgins, though this is only for the men, the women in these religions are confined to being just objects of sexual lust for the men) in a hedonistic so called heaven. All these are of course is not now, never ever now in this life but only after they have died. And the reason is obviously, because dead men tell no tale so no one can ever know that it is just a satanic lie to get men to kill themselves so that the proclaimed and acclaimed Superlatives of these religions get to rule over their social order with impunity.
What Christianity Is Definitely Not About
Firstly true Christianity is not about going to heaven when we die. Nor is it about all those who are not Christian going to hell to be forever tortured when they die.
The Christian Holy Scriptures is explicitly clear that no one other than the ONE who came down from Heaven, has ever been (or will ever go) to Heaven. And even the ONE who came down from Heaven and has since returned to Heaven, HE will return again to earth or rule over it forever from Jerusalem (in the Promised Land which is on earth).
No one has ascended to heaven but He who came down from heaven, that is, the Son of Man who is in heaven.
John 3:13
And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel, who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
Acts 1:10 – 11
The same is also explicitly clear that no one, not even the wicked are going to hell which the Scriptures called Hebrew 'Sheol' and in Greek 'Hades' (when they die). These terms just mean the 'grave' as an analogy for death. So the hell (aka 'sheol' or 'hades') of the Christian Holy Scripture is not really a place but as an analogy for death or being dead (and not of being alive in some other place being torture or having mindless sex with copious dozens of virtual virgins).
No doubt there is also 'Tartarus' and 'Gehenna' but these terms or concepts are about about: a place of temporary (not permanent) restrain or confinement (for the former), and (the latter) a place where things are destroyed once or for all, aka forever burned up. Neither is about being sadistically tortured forever.
First and foremost, it is all about relationship, how we conduct our relationship with each other (i.e. all our neighbors, all those living in a same realm and dominion by which our actions can affect) and also with everything else.
This is the number one reason GOD made covenant with man. To highlight the crucial binding level requirements in an agreement that must be honored and kept (aka performed).
Is is about choosing (to do) good and not choosing (to do) evil.
Seek good and not evil, That you may live; So the Lord God of hosts will be with you, As you have spoken.
Amos 5:14
Ultimately it is about not harming (including not seeking to harm) anyone at all absolutely, but loving and caring for everyone equally.
Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
Romans 13:10
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

No one can fail to understand all these clearly, plainly and explicitly recorded doctrines in the Christian Holy Scriptures. So why does no one seem to understand any of these plainly, clearly and explicitly written things (as shown or demonstrated and revealed in all that they express in their lives and living)?
But all those who truly love good and hate evil do not worry and fret, for in just a little while all the wicked (i.e. evil doers) will be no more forever.
For yet a little while and the wicked shall be no more; Indeed, you will look carefully for his place, But it shall be no more.
Psalm 37:10
Inheriting The Kingdom of GOD
Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

Ultimately it is about inheriting the Kingdom of GOD (and not about going to heaven, or hell) and living forever (without aging and becoming unwell or sick) as immortal HOLY SPIRIT composed SONs of GOD. This will be when JESUS CHRIST will return from the Third Heaven (where GOD's throne or seat of government is) to rule over all the nations as KING of Kings and LORD of Lords, at the Second Advent.
So nobody is going to heaven (or to hell) though some may perish in a Lake of Fire (a fire that burns up everything forever), the Saints (then as HOLY SPIRIT composed SONs of GOD) will be on earth, ruling with JESUS CHRIST, right here on earth for one thousand years. This will be when all the Saints of GOD (many of whom are currently dead, which the Scriptures sometimes referred to or equate with as being asleep to signify that it is not a permanent state but a temporary one) will be brought (resurrected) back to life at the Second Advent.
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed — in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1 Corinthians 15:51 – 52

Revelation 20:6
And then the Saints (of GOD) will rule (over the earth, just as Satan the Devil and the Angels are currently doing today) with CHRIST for a thousand years. After the thousand years Satan the Devil will be released (Revelation20:7) to continue his sway over humankind (which is what he has been doing since Adam and Eve) to rouse all humankind living then (Revelation 20:8) to attack the Elect of GOD in the Kingdom of Heaven in the Promised Land (Revelation 20:9). This is to finally and convincingly convict Satan the Devil as the source and cause of all the evil in the creation.
And no, there will not be any sex orgies with copious dozens of virtual virgins or any hedonistic living in the Kingdom of GOD. Sex is a physical (aka carnal driven) activity, an activity that is driven primarily by hormones and chemicals in the physical bodies of men and women (and whatnot).
I am sure some have heard of chemical castration where rapists and the sex obsessed in order that they be released into society are chemically castrated so that they no longer have any sexual inclination or urges. The same too the ancient practice of literal castration where men serving in the court of emperors and kings had they sex organs cut off (so the source of hormones which produced the sexual urges are completely removed) so that they would not be able to secretly have sex with the many wives and concubines of the emperors and kings.
Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God. For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.
Matthew 22:29 – 30

Mark 12:24 – 25
What this means is without the hormones and other chemicals which induced in humankind the desire for sex, humankind basically have no inclination let alone desire to have sex.
Spirit composed beings (which today are the Angels, include demons) contrary to the lust driven lies of the so called Abrahamic religions and all the other heathen religions of the social order of humankind, cannot and do not engage in sexual activities whether among themselves or with humankind. They do not have any sex organs (as they do not reproduce, they are directly created creatures of GOD and need not, do not and cannot reproduce or procreate).
But the new heaven and new earth are not just for the Saints (all those called and chosen) of GOD who will be in the First Resurrection (coming back to life as HOLY SPIRIT composed SONs of GOD at the soon coming Second Advent) in this age, or the age to come.
It is also for the bulk (just not all) of humankind who have ever lived, all of whom will be raised back to physical dust composed life (twenty years of age, whole and no longer sick, injured or old). This will be after Satan the Devil has been finally and completely convicted (Revelation 20:7 – 10) for being the originator and main or primarily cause of sins in the creation, then throne into the Lake of Fire to be burned up forever) to be Judged (punished and tested in baptism of fire, for a hundred years) in the Great Judgment.
And all who passed through this one hundred years (Isaiah 65:20 third and last sentence of verse) trial of the Great Judgment (Revelation 20:12) and found (tested in a baptism of fire and proven) to be truly repentant, will too be granted to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven, changed to HOLY SPIRIT composed Spirit beings at the end of the hundred years. While all the rest (i.e. sinners) who still refuse to repent will be thrown into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15) to be burned up forever.
In a forever Kingdom of GOD, right here on earth but it is not this earth (which like everything of our current universe, is just temporary) but a new earth not made of dust (i.e. physical matter) that is forever. But not only a permanent new earth but also a permanent new heaven.
Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.

And after that too, a forever without end in a new earth (as well as a new heaven) which will be forever while the former will no longer be remembered.
